Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on and therapeutic interventions to restore mobility and function
• Monitor and document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
• Educate patients and families to support home program adherence and long-term outcomes
• Participate in department quality initiatives and clinically meaningful outcomes tracking

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license (active or eligible) — Mississippi licensure preferred
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree (see education section)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
• Experience in skilled nursing/rehabilitation or acute care settings preferred
• Comfort with floating between facilities and adapting to different patient populations
• Strong documentation skills and ability to use electronic medical records

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
• Or Master’s/Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy with equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in therapeutic exercise, gait training and balance retraining
• Skilled in manual therapy techniques and patient handling
• Knowledge of restorative nursing and rehab-focused care pathways
• Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and collaborate across disciplines
