Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities and needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans that target meaningful functional goals
• Deliver evidence-based therapy using a range of approaches tailored to each patient
• Document progress thoroughly and communicate updates with the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers and family members to support holistic recovery
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies and home programs to maximize carryover
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working in a rehabilitation/long-term care setting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in diagnostic assessments and treatment planning for adults
• Experience with dysphagia evaluation and management
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication options
• Skilled in patient- and family-centered counseling and education
• Solid documentation and time-management abilities
• Collaborative communication skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
