Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders
• Deliver evidence-based therapy and adjust approaches based on patient progress and goals
• Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and physicians to coordinate holistic patient care
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely
• Provide patient and family education to empower recovery and improve outcomes
• Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and contribute clinical expertise to care planning

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
• Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain one)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
• Experience working with adult/geriatric populations in inpatient or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a team-oriented attitude
• Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and management
• Experience with cognitive-communication and language disorders
• Proficient in treatment planning, progress tracking, and documentation
• Comfortable using augmentative and alternative communication strategies when appropriate
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
