Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and adjust approaches based on patient progress and goals
- Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and physicians to coordinate holistic patient care
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely
- Provide patient and family education to empower recovery and improve outcomes
- Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and contribute clinical expertise to care planning
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain one)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
- Experience working with adult/geriatric populations in inpatient or skilled nursing settings is a plus
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a team-oriented attitude
- Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and management
- Experience with cognitive-communication and language disorders
- Proficient in treatment planning, progress tracking, and documentation
- Comfortable using augmentative and alternative communication strategies when appropriate
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
