Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day and Night). Day: 3x12-hour (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM). Night: 3x12-hour (07:00 PM - 07:30 AM). Rotating D/N schedule with self-scheduling requests; final schedule is reviewed every 4 weeks and may include weekends. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days; Week 2 = 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to MedSurg and PCU patients using strong clinical judgment
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
- Perform tracheostomy care including suctioning, inner cannula changes, and ongoing management
- Start and manage IVs and administer medications per protocol, including chemo if credentialed
- Accurately document patient care in EPIC and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response as needed
- Float to units of equal or lower acuity as assigned and support staffing needs
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to protect patients
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (MedSurg/Telemetry experience highly relevant)
- EPIC charting experience required
- BCLS required
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, OCN
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Comfort with tracheostomy care/management and suctioning
- Familiarity with Alaris infusion pumps, GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, and Stryker beds preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred and the ability to float between similar units
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Tracheostomy care and respiratory support knowledge
- IV starts and vascular access management
- EPIC electronic charting proficiency
- Infection prevention and patient safety best practices
- Emergency response and rapid assessment skills
- Familiarity with chemotherapy administration (preferred)
- Experience with CPAP/BiP settings and nocturnal respiratory support (preferred)
