Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, rotating day/evening shifts: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM; 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; 10:30 AM - 8:30 PM (combination of 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hours/week). Additional posted day options include 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour) and 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM (10-hour) as needed. Call as needed: Evening 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Night 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Weekend coverage as scheduled: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Shift type: Rotating (day/evening with occasional nights and weekend call).
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care across a rotating day/evening schedule to optimize patient outcomes
- Serve as both scrub and circulating nurse as needed, ensuring sterile technique and smooth operative flow
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records using EPIC to support continuity of care
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, and OR team members to coordinate safe procedures
- Anticipate equipment and instrumentation needs (including robotics and specialty tools) and prepare the OR accordingly
- Respond to intraoperative emergencies and support code/rapid response activities per hospital protocols
- Adhere to infection control, blood product administration, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time out) standards
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state-appropriate) — active and in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of perioperative/OR experience required
- Scrub and circulate experience is required — we need comfortable hands in both roles
- EPIC charting experience required
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
- Travel nurse experience required
- Preferred: ACLS, CNOR, oncology experience, robotics (Da Vinci SP/Xi) experience
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine: facility guideline indicates Not Required
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative nursing best practices and sterile technique
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Infection control, specimen handling and universal protocol (time out) procedures
- Experience with multi-specialty OR cases: neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, oncology
- Robotic-assisted surgery workflows (Da Vinci SP/Xi) and instrumentation familiarity
- Ability to assist with complex cases including free flap/microvascular procedures
- Emergency management skills: code response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia awareness
- Equipment familiarity: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords and specialty OR tools
