Shift Type: Monday-Friday, with some weekend coverage, 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM Day
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $82 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the perioperative charge desk to keep the OR running smoothly
- Lead and coordinate daily OR staffing, assignments, and case sequencing with clarity and calm
- Serve as the charge nurse: triage urgent needs, escalate appropriately, and keep patient flow moving
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and support services to ensure timely, safe care
- Provide mentorship and support to perioperative staff, promoting best practices and teamwork
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Respond to emergent situations using ACLS/CPR skills and decisive clinical judgment
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and OR efficiency
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (required)
- Current CPR and ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum one year of current perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience (required)
- CNOR certification (desired)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)
- Two or more years of Critical Care experience (preferred)
- Strong leadership, triage, and communication skills
Education
- Active California RN license (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)

- Perioperative nursing and OR workflow knowledge
- Charge desk operations and case coordination
- Patient safety principles and surgical asepsis
- Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity situations
- Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Electronic documentation and charting best practices
