Shift Type: 12-hour day shifts (day shift), exact start/end times set by facility; 12-hour daytime schedule with a 36-hour weekly guarantee (facility provides exact shift start/end times upon scheduling)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide rapid patient assessment and triage in a busy Emergency Department
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for emergency and urgent conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, PAs, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform advanced life support interventions and respond to acute emergencies using ACLS/PALS skills
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient medical record
- Uphold infection control, patient safety, and throughput standards to support departmental flow
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful situations
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and maintain required certifications
Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN license required (Compact license allowed)
- Current Nursys verification required
- ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) and TNCC — all certifications must be in hand and uploaded
- Minimum 2+ years of current Emergency Department nursing experience in a hospital setting (required)
- Travel nursing experience of at least 3 months preferred
- Supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required
- Traveler must have own vehicle and include permanent address on profile
- All requested time off (RTO) must be included at submission; facility will not approve post-offer scheduling requests
Education
- RN nursing degree required (associate or diploma acceptable as RN licensure is required)
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and rapid patient assessment skills
- Ability to manage high-acuity and variable-volume ED presentations
- Competence in emergency procedures and advanced life support
- Proficient clinical documentation and time management in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability to changing shift assignments and departmental needs
- Familiarity with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols
