Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers while promoting resident independence
• Monitor and report changes in residents condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with feeding and hydration while observing dietary needs and preferences
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to ensure continuity of care
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe care environment
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists and families to deliver person-centered care
• Contribute to a warm, respectful atmosphere that honors each resident s dignity

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification or equivalent in Maryland as required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Completion of an approved GNA or CNA training program
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings and immunizations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to lift or assist residents as required by job duties
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant or CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and common chronic conditions
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic resident hygiene
• Ability to observe, recognize and report clinical changes
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and basic electronic charting
• Infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Teamwork, time management and respectful interpersonal skills
