Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Support safe and dignified transfers, mobility, and positioning
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Document care and observations clearly and accurately
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident independence
- Collaborate with the care team and communicate with families to support care goals
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
- Up-to-date immunizations and successful background check as required
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role such as lifting, standing, and assisting with transfers
- Strong communication skills and a resident-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and resident advocacy
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Clear documentation and charting abilities
- Teamwork, time management, and reliable work habits
