Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Support safe and dignified transfers, mobility, and positioning
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care and observations clearly and accurately
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident independence
• Collaborate with the care team and communicate with families to support care goals

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Up-to-date immunizations and successful background check as required
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role such as lifting, standing, and assisting with transfers
• Strong communication skills and a resident-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient-centered care and resident advocacy
• Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Basic vital signs and observation skills
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Clear documentation and charting abilities
• Teamwork, time management, and reliable work habits
