Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents — assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor residents' condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and fall-prevention measures to protect residents
- Assist with meal service and document intake as required
- Perform reliable documentation of care, vital signs, and observations
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) or state equivalent
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and mobility assistance
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
- Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
