Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility in a respectful manner
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
• Support social and therapeutic activities to enhance resident well being
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with lifting and transfers and following safe patient handling practices
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient hygiene
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and documentation best practices
• Understanding of infection control procedures and safe handling techniques
• Team-oriented approach and ability to follow care plans
