Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through consistent, respectful care
• Follow care plans and facility policies to maintain high standards of safety and quality
• Support a collaborative team environment and contribute to positive resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and patients with cognitive impairments
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility schedules and procedures

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completed GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, mobility assistance, ADL support
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to observe, document, and escalate resident concerns
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care environment
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills

This is a travel contract position based in Bowie, MD — a great home base for exploring the region. Enjoy nearby Allen Pond Park and its walking trails and community events, catch a show or shop at Bowie Town Center, or tee off at several local golf courses. You're also a short drive from historic Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay for waterfront dining and boating.
