Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through consistent, respectful care
- Follow care plans and facility policies to maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Support a collaborative team environment and contribute to positive resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or equivalent required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with elderly populations and patients with cognitive impairments
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility schedules and procedures
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completed GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and best practices
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, mobility assistance, ADL support
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to observe, document, and escalate resident concerns
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care environment
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
