Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting — with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and families
• Follow care plans and document care accurately and timely in facility records
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent certification
• CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric care preferred
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required health clearances
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an approved GNA/CNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skillful in personal care tasks and safe resident handling techniques
• Strong observational skills to notice changes and escalate appropriately
• Good verbal communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and organization for documentation and rounding
• Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences
