Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to a group of residents/patients each shift through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care
• Manage the environment to maintain resident/patient safety and uphold facility standards
• Supervise and guide nursing assistants and helpers during resident care activities
• Follow Villa at the Bay policies and procedures and perform duties within the State Nurse Practice Act
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes in resident condition to the clinical team
• Adhere to applicable JCAHO standards and support quality outcomes for residents

Qualifications

• Current Michigan CNA license required
• Minimum 2 years combined SNF/LTC and Med-Surg experience required
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (copy required on submission)
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case
• Agency must have active MI iCHAT account and be authorized to schedule fingerprinting
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission and references highly preferred
• Comfort working in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and flexible with scheduling

Education

• CNA certification and Michigan state license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident assessment, care plan implementation and evaluation
• Resident and patient safety management and infection control basics
• Supervision of nursing assistants and delegation within scope
• Familiarity with State Nurse Practice Act requirements and JCAHO standards
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and high-acuity situations
