Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, ensuring comfort and dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Help create a warm, engaging environment that promotes resident wellbeing and independence

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and supporting mobility needs
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the full scheduled shift
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills for assisting with ADLs and taking vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in residents
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with memory-impaired residents
• Ability to follow care plans and document appropriately
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses, therapists, and family members
