Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled PTA care by implementing individualized treatment plans
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training and mobility recovery
- Monitor patient progress and communicate clinical observations to the PT
- Document treatments accurately and maintain clear, timely charting
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers to promote independence and safe discharge
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) — Massachusetts license required or ability to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric rehab populations in an inpatient/contract setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliable, professional, and dedicated to delivering patient-centered care
Education
- Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progressions
- Proficient in gait training, transfers and assistive device education
- Solid understanding of safe patient handling and body mechanics
- Familiar with documentation standards and electronic medical records
- Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt to changing patient needs
- Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care planning
