Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA care by implementing individualized treatment plans
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training and mobility recovery
• Monitor patient progress and communicate clinical observations to the PT
• Document treatments accurately and maintain clear, timely charting
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers to promote independence and safe discharge

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) — Massachusetts license required or ability to obtain
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Comfortable working with adult and geriatric rehab populations in an inpatient/contract setting
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, professional, and dedicated to delivering patient-centered care

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progressions
• Proficient in gait training, transfers and assistive device education
• Solid understanding of safe patient handling and body mechanics
• Familiar with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt to changing patient needs
• Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care planning
