Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate day-to-day personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with kindness
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document resident care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create a positive, resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) credential required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Comfortable working night shifts and skilled at providing calm, focused care overnight
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Ability to perform personal care tasks with respect and sensitivity
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Quick decision-making during routine resident care and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
