Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day shift); full-time with every other weekend and every other holiday coverage; float and charge responsibilities included
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct and indirect nursing care to patients with psychiatric and substance use needs
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed recovery principles
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement and document individualized treatment plans
- Serve as float staff and assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned, leading the team with clarity and calm
- Manage crises and de-escalate situations using restraint reduction and best-practice interventions
- Use the Electronic Medical Record to document care, communicate with the team and support continuity
- Coach, delegate and build teamwork to ensure high-quality, consistent patient care
- Model professional boundaries while developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required)
- Minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience (required)
- CPR certification (required)
- Willingness to float across units and accept charge responsibilities
- BSN preferred
- Restraint reduction / de-escalation and crisis intervention experience preferred
- Previous inpatient psychiatric and/or substance use treatment experience preferred
Education
- Active RN license in Massachusetts required
- BSN preferred

- Trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practices
- Behavioral health and substance use treatment modalities
- Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Excellent therapeutic communication and boundary-setting
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and basic computer/typing skills
- Time management, delegation, coaching and team-building abilities
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making in high-acuity situations
- Flexibility, creativity and resilience in fast-paced environments
