Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert inpatient neurological care across a broad spectrum of conditions including stroke, epilepsy, brain tumors, dementia, neuropathies, and movement disorders
• Lead acute stroke management efforts in a Primary Stroke Center-designated facility
• Assess and manage patients with seizures and epilepsy, coordinating timely neurodiagnostic testing
• Collaborate closely with general and specialty neurologists as part of an integrated referral and follow-up network
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and hospital support staff to ensure coordinated, compassionate care
• Participate in 24-hour hospital coverage according to the rotating schedule
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold high standards for patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of an accredited neurology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
• Eligible for or holding an active New York medical license
• Experience in inpatient neurology and acute stroke care preferred
• Comfortable with 24-hour inpatient coverage and flexible block scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care

Education

• MD or DO; completion of an accredited neurology residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient neurological care and hospital-based workflows
• Acute stroke assessment and management in a Primary Stroke Center
• Evaluation and management of epilepsy and seizure disorders
• Care for brain tumors, dementia, neuropathies, and movement disorders
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with subspecialists and support services
• Familiarity with neurodiagnostic services (EEG, EMG) and use of consultative resources
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage complex inpatient cases
