Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a rehab setting
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy with precision and safety
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and safety measures
- Monitor patient status and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico or compact RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Rehabilitation nursing or acute care experience preferred
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or specialty rehab credentials are a plus
- Ability to complete facility credentialing and background checks
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical decision making
- Medication administration and IV/infusion management
- Wound care and mobility assistance common in rehab settings
- Strong documentation skills in electronic medical records
- Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and quality outcomes
