Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide medical nutrition therapy and counseling to patients based on evidence-based guidelines
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
• Monitor and adjust nutrition interventions as patient condition and goals evolve
• Educate patients, families, and staff on nutrition-related needs and best practices
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nutrition-related committees

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
• State licensure or certification as a dietitian as required by California (or eligibility to obtain)
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; ACEND-accredited internship preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care, long-term care, or a similar medical setting preferred
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Current basic life support (BLS) as required by the facility

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (required)
• ACEND-accredited dietetic internship or supervised practice (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy
• Experience with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to create clear, patient-centered care plans
• Familiarity with nutrition protocols for acute and chronic conditions
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Time management skills to handle a full caseload during weekday shifts
