Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals and drive progress
• Implement targeted therapy interventions and adjust strategies based on patient response
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely
• Provide caregiver education and train staff to support carryover and safe practices
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• State license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure in Maine
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification preferred
• Active professional liability insurance or ability to obtain coverage prior to start
• Minimum relevant clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
• Current basic life support certification as required by facility policies

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven clinical skills in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia
• Comfortable with documentation systems and timely charting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients, families, and staff
• Ability to prioritize caseload, manage time effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication strategies is a plus
