Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
- Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals and drive progress
- Implement targeted therapy interventions and adjust strategies based on patient response
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely
- Provide caregiver education and train staff to support carryover and safe practices
- Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- State license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure in Maine
- ASHA CCC-SLP certification preferred
- Active professional liability insurance or ability to obtain coverage prior to start
- Minimum relevant clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
- Current basic life support certification as required by facility policies
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven clinical skills in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia
- Comfortable with documentation systems and timely charting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients, families, and staff
- Ability to prioritize caseload, manage time effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication strategies is a plus
