Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient nutritional needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans
- Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to patients and families
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to support patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
- Monitor and adjust nutrition interventions based on patient response and clinical changes
- Support transitions of care and contribute to discharge planning to ensure continuity
- Cover LOA/FMLA needs with professional, reliable care and clear communication
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential required
- Current ability to practice in California or willingness to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Clinical experience in inpatient or medical settings preferred
- Strong patient education and communication skills
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM for the assignment duration
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; completion of accredited dietetic internship preferred
- RD/RDN credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical nutrition assessment and care planning
- Experience with therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions
- Patient counseling and education techniques
- Familiarity with documentation best practices in a clinical setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
