Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess behavioral health needs of residents in the Collier County Jail and create individualized care plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapy and interventions to promote safety and mental health stabilization
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when acute situations arise
• Collaborate with custody staff, medical providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the facility record system and adhere to facility protocols
• Educate residents and families (as appropriate) on coping strategies, community resources, and discharge planning
• Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute clinically sound recommendations

Qualifications

• Active LMHC or LCSW license in Florida (required)
• Licensed Behavioral Health Professional credential with experience in clinical assessment and therapy
• Comfortable working in a correctional/facility setting (Collier County Jail)
• Valid background check and ability to meet facility clearance requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Availability for the full 13-week assignment (start date 2025-12-29 through 2026-03-28) and Tuesday-Saturday schedule

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (required for LMHC/LCSW)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
• Familiarity with documentation standards, electronic medical records, and regulatory compliance
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a correctional environment
• Cultural sensitivity and strong professional boundaries
