Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in a correctional facility environment
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Perform timely patient assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Maintain safe, secure, and professional standards while working in a correctional setting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support continuity of care and patient safety
- Contribute to a positive workplace by following facility policies, infection control, and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing (required)
- Cannot accept new graduates; prior clinical experience required
- Preferred: correctional experience
- Ability to work night 12-hour shifts and meet the 36 hours/week commitment for this assignment
Education
- LPN diploma or vocational nursing certificate (or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Comfortable performing patient assessments and clinical interventions independently
- Familiarity with infection control, safety, and correctional facility protocols
- Good communication and collaboration skills with security and healthcare teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy night shifts
