Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognition and swallowing needs using evidence-based methods
- Develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional progress
- Implement therapy sessions and modify approaches based on patient response
- Document progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and families to ensure coordinated care
- Provide education and training to caregivers and staff to support carryover
- Monitor and report clinical outcomes to contribute to program quality
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- State SLP license or ability to obtain licensure in South Carolina
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience with clinical assessments, treatment planning and documentation
- Comfortable working in a contract/traveler role and able to start 2025-12-29
Education
- Master's in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in articulation, language, pragmatic and cognitive-communication interventions
- Experience with dysphagia evaluation and safe swallowing strategies
- Proficient in electronic medical records and timely documentation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to educate caregivers and adapt therapy for functional goals
