Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychological assessment and individual and group therapy to support mental health needs
• Develop and implement evidence-based, individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with custody staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams to coordinate care
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention when needed, prioritizing safety
• Maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation and comply with facility policies
• Participate in case consultations, trainings, and quality improvement efforts to elevate care
• Respect security protocols while advocating for patient-centered mental health services

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSY) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) — active license required
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) accepted as an alternative credential
• Experience working in mental health settings; correctional or forensic experience is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and crisis-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and follow facility guidelines

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnosis in adult mental health
• Evidence-based therapies and treatment planning (for example, CBT and trauma-informed approaches)
• Crisis intervention and risk assessment
• Clear, professional clinical documentation
• Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
• Team collaboration and effective communication within a correctional healthcare setting
