Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy assistance under the direction of the supervising OTR to help patients regain daily living skills
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff and family members to maximize patient outcomes
• Use appropriate adaptive equipment and therapeutic techniques to promote independence
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical observations to optimize care plans

Qualifications

• Active COTA credential required
• Current state licensure or ability to obtain WV COTA licensure prior to assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Graduation from an accredited OTA program and COTA credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment and ADL training
• Skill in implementing treatment plans and documenting measurable progress
• Familiarity with rehab protocols for neurological and orthopedic conditions
• Ability to teach and transfer skills to patients and caregivers effectively
• Good time management, organization and interpersonal skills
