Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with special needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, families, and specialists to support student progress
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning styles and accessibility needs
• Track student progress, maintain records, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that fosters social and academic growth
• Attend team meetings and contribute to positive school culture at both sites

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility for Washington state certification
• Experience working with IEPs and individualized instruction; previous K-12 SPED experience preferred
• Ability to manage caseload across two school sites and coordinate schedules effectively
• Strong communication skills with families, staff, and related service providers
• Willingness to complete background checks and required school employment screenings

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master's preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and assessment methods
• Classroom management strategies tailored to diverse learners
• Skill in differentiating instruction and using accommodations and modifications
• Familiarity with progress monitoring, documentation, and student data tracking
• Collaborative problem solving and effective teaming with multidisciplinary staff
