Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in a correctional healthcare setting
- Observe and document patient behavior, clinical changes, and interventions accurately and promptly
- Support treatment plans by assisting the interdisciplinary team with patient needs
- Maintain a safe environment by applying sound judgment and established safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in orientation and on-site training to stay current with facility procedures
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential (California license required)
- Ability to work the scheduled shifts including Saturdays and orientation day
- Successful completion of facility onboarding and background checks as required by employer
- Strong commitment to patient dignity, safety, and teamwork
Education
- Completion of an approved Licensed Psychiatric Technician training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient observation and accurate clinical documentation
- Effective de-escalation and verbal intervention techniques
- Clear communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care team
- Familiarity with behavioral health principles and basic crisis management
- Ability to follow facility policies and maintain professional boundaries
