Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual and group therapy to support patient stabilization and recovery
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity
• Document clinical encounters and maintain accurate records in accordance with facility standards
• Respond to crises and provide timely interventions to ensure patient and staff safety
• Participate in training and professional development during the onboarding period
• Contribute to program development and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential valid in California; newly licensed clinicians are welcome
• Experience or comfort working in mental health settings; correctional healthcare experience a plus
• Ability to work the assigned schedule including weekends and initial training week
• Current basic life support certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility clearance requirements

Education

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent advanced degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in mental health
• Proven therapeutic skills including individual and group counseling
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Excellent documentation and case management abilities
• Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a structured environment
• Cultural competence and the ability to work with diverse populations
