Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment plans for inpatient and outpatient patients
• Provide hands-on rehab services for a diverse caseload including spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, ortho and pediatric patients
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with PT, SLP and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate rehab goals and discharge planning
• Support sub-acute and vented patient care where applicable with safety-first interventions
• Participate in unit-specific orientation (3 shifts) and ongoing competency activities
• Cover assigned outpatient clinic locations as needed (Hueme freestanding clinic or Oxnard outpatient site)
• Adhere to hospital policies (including BLS certification) and contribute to a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of California (or compact/reciprocal where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical OT experience (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Experience charting in Cerner preferred
• Comfortable treating across inpatient, outpatient and sub-acute settings
• Swallow/feeding experience is a plus (OTs with swallow experience are preferred)
• Ability to work weekend and holiday rotations as part of the schedule

Education

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or OTD preferred; entry-level degree required for state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record charting
• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for neuro, ortho and rehab populations
• Experience with lymphedema management, spinal cord injury, stroke and brain injury rehab
• Skilled in working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and bariatric care
• Good clinical judgment for ICU, cardiac and sub-acute settings
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education abilities
