Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients promptly and provide appropriate emergency care in partnership with the ED physician
• Triage patients effectively to prioritize care during busy periods
• Maintain patient flow and order during peak surges to ensure timely treatment
• Respond to multiple demands with integrity and calm under pressure
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
• Assist other hospital nursing areas as low census permits, helping the broader care team

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state licensure required)
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work collaboratively with the care team
• Willingness to assist other nursing areas as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

• Patient assessment and rapid decision-making in emergency settings
• Triage principles and effective patient prioritization
• Patient flow management to keep the ED moving
• Emergency nursing best practices and protocols
• Strong teamwork, communication, and multi-tasking abilities
