Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Take and record vital signs, observing and reporting changes in each resident’s condition
- Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, mobility support and safe positioning
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with the care team each shift
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
- Promote a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices and facility protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, treating everyone with dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-specific certification required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable performing physical tasks and working on your feet during the shift
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital signs and documentation practices
- Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Team communication and following care plans
- Observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
