Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to medical-surgical patients and those recovering from surgery
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety
• Monitor and record vital signs, observe for clinical changes, and report concerns promptly to nursing staff
• Support perioperative and emergent care needs as directed by the RN team
• Perform accurate documentation in the patient record and follow established policies and protocols
• Collaborate closely with RNs, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection prevention practices

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon CNA Level 1 or Level 2 certification required at time of submission (CNA Level 2 preferred)
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• One year of hospital experience preferred; Medical-Surgical experience highly valued
• Comfort with night shift work and rotating weekends
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and work effectively as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Oregon CNA Level 1 or Level 2 certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical patient care skills and experience with acutely ill adults
• Familiarity with perioperative and post-operative patient needs
• Skilled in vital signs, patient observation, and basic clinical interventions
• Clear communication and teamwork with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
• Competence with documentation and following care plans
• Patient safety mindset and infection control practices
