Shift Type: Full-time, any shift (day, evening, night, or rotating). Schedule varies and may include weekdays and weekends; must be available for any assigned shift.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement engaging recreational activities tailored to each resident's abilities and interests
- Assess and reassess residents' activity needs through observation, conversation, and documentation
- Support community reintegration by accompanying residents on safe, supervised excursions (shopping, dining, picnics, daytime outings)
- Provide one-on-one engagement to promote socialization, well-being, and therapeutic goals
- Coordinate logistics with hospital departments to ensure supplies, equipment, and activity spaces are ready
- Maintain and update the facility activity calendar and notify teams of schedule changes
- Work with dietary staff to arrange special or off-site meal needs related to activities
- Prepare, set up, clean up, and maintain audiovisual and activity equipment; report shortages and assist with inventory
- Assist Certified Nurse Aides and licensed staff with basic patient care tasks as needed
- Attend interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to resident-centered care planning
Qualifications
- CNA certification REQUIRED (explicit requirement for this role)
- Minimum 2 years of recreational aide experience in a long-term care or similar setting — no exceptions
- Experience with MDS (Minimum Data Set) is essential
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Demonstrated ability to implement therapeutic treatment plans and engage residents independently
- Comfortable assisting with patient transport and basic care tasks as part of an interdisciplinary team
Knowledge & Skills
- Recreational activity planning and individualized activity assessment
- Designing and carrying out therapeutic treatment plans and leisure-time activities
- Community reintegration methods and safely escorting residents on excursions
- Familiarity with MDS documentation and resident-centered assessment
- Basic patient care assistance (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Equipment setup, audiovisual operation, and inventory awareness
- Working knowledge of hospital/long-term care policies and interdisciplinary collaboration
