Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform CT scans using complex computerized equipment with precision and care
- Position patients safely and comfortably, applying immobilization and proper lifting techniques when needed
- Obtain patient identifiers and relevant medical/allergy history to ensure safe imaging
- Prepare and administer IV contrast following radiologist protocols and monitor patients for reactions
- Capture, process and archive diagnostic images digitally, maintaining high image quality for accurate diagnosis
- Perform daily calibration and quality control of CT equipment and report/track required repairs
- Organize the daily patient schedule in coordination with the team to keep the department running smoothly
- Assist radiologists with specialized procedures and provide clear clinical data to support diagnoses
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and department goal-setting
- Provide basic emergency assistance, including CPR, when required
Qualifications
- ARRT-certified (required) with an active registry
- Minimum 2+ years of CT experience (required)
- Hands-on Phillips CT system experience (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Traveler experience preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and PACS workflow preferred
- Comfort with IV contrast administration and monitoring for adverse reactions
- Strong commitment to radiation safety, quality control and departmental protocols
Education
- ARRT certification (required)
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or CT program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in computerized tomography (CT) techniques and patient positioning
- Intravenous contrast preparation and safe injection practices
- Digital image capture, processing, storage and transfer (PACS experience)
- Daily equipment calibration and quality control routines
- Solid understanding of radiation safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to follow protocols and assist radiologists with specialized imaging procedures
- Effective patient communication and ability to collect pertinent clinical history
- Basic life support and emergency response skills (CPR/BLS)
