Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Perform orthopedic and neuro surgical support consistent with OR best practices
• Respond to on-call assignments for weekend and weekday coverage professionally and promptly
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative teams to ensure efficient workflows
• Maintain high standards of performance consistent with Regional West expectations
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about perioperative procedures and care plans
• Support unit readiness by preparing rooms, verifying supplies, and assisting with turnover

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure appropriate for practice in Nebraska (Registered Nurse)
• Operating Room (OR) experience required
• Orthopedic OR experience required
• Neuro OR experience required (Level 1 or Level 2 experience specified)
• Ability and willingness to work 10-hour shifts and participate in on-call rotations
• Demonstrated ability to meet performance expectations; strong teamwork and reliability

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and aseptic technique
• Experience with orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures and instrumentation
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and responding to urgent surgical needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
• Adaptability to varied cases and the ability to maintain composure under pressure
