Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care: assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding and mobility
- Monitor and report changes: observe patients’ condition and promptly communicate any concerns to the nursing team
- Support a safe environment: follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers
- Document clearly: maintain accurate records and chart care in a timely manner
- Be a teammate: collaborate with nurses, therapists and support staff to deliver person-centered care
- Promote dignity: treat every resident with respect, patience and kindness
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active CNA certification in Maine or eligible for Maine listing/transfer
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with patient handling and safe transfer techniques
- Basic understanding of infection control and safety practices
- Comfortable with vital signs, feeding assistance and toileting care
- Good observational skills and the ability to report changes clearly
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and direction from nursing staff
