Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support their activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility with dignity and respect
- Take and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the charting system
- Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices to keep residents secure
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to deliver person-centered care
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive work environment
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA certification (state-certified; must be valid for work in Maine)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with physical care and following care plans
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing care and resident assistance
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care
- Basic charting and documentation skills
