Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead daily department operations to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Supervise and assign duties to nursing staff, promoting teamwork and accountability
• Apply the nursing process and quality improvement principles to drive excellent outcomes
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policy
• Provide backup support to the Emergency Department when needed
• Coach and mentor staff to develop skills and maintain high standards of care
• Act as a clear communicator between multidisciplinary teams and patients/families

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of leadership or charge nurse experience
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with clinical supervision, staff assignment, and department oversight

Education

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)

• Patient care and acute care nursing expertise
• Regulatory compliance and quality improvement principles
• Staff assignment, supervision, and leadership capabilities
• Department operations and emergency department support
• Typing and general computer skills for documentation
• Time management, organization, and effective verbal communication
