Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ICU nursing care to critically ill adult patients with compassion and precision
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and alarms, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Perform advanced cardiac life support and other emergency interventions when needed
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely
• Float to other units within scope (for example ED holds, telemetry, medical-surgical) as needed to support patient flow
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain clinical skills through continuing education

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU/critical care nursing experience and training
• Current BLS (required upon hire and must be maintained)
• Current ACLS (required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained)
• NIHSS Certificate (required)
• PALS required within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients
• DCI/BVP and telemetry experience preferred
• RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred
• Willingness to float to other units within scope

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU patient care and critical care nursing principles
• Advanced cardiac life support and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Patient monitoring and rapid assessment skills
• Ability to function effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring and emergency department holds
