Candidate Pay Rate: $36 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to residents following each client’s individualized Plan of Care
- Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature) accurately and timely
- Use and maintain basic medical equipment such as BP cuff, thermometer and stethoscope
- Follow infection control procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment appropriately
- Keep clear, concise basic records of care and communicate observations to the RN Case Manager
- Assist clients with activities of daily living with dignity and compassion
- Present information clearly to residents, families and staff in one-on-one or small group settings
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (required)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (required; must be maintained during assignment)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in long-term care preferred, but we will train the right candidate
- Ability to read, write and follow written instructions and basic documentation
- Comfortable performing basic math (ratios, percent, measurements) as needed for duties
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort with basic recordkeeping and documenting client care activities
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families and care teams
- Familiarity with vital sign measurement and routine use of related equipment
- Understanding of infection control practices and correct PPE usage
- Ability to apply common-sense problem solving in standardized situations
- Respect for cultural differences and ability to work in a tight-knit community environment
