Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient record
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and team members to coordinate care
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that prioritizes comfort and respect

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-specific credentials required; Maine certification preferred or eligible for reciprocity)
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
• Comfortable and available to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift
• Compassionate, dependable, and able to work well as part of a collaborative care team
• Previous experience as a CNA preferred but enthusiastic new grads are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Clear communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with infection prevention and facility safety standards
• Basic electronic charting and documentation skills
