Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients across MedSurg/PCU/Telemetry, responding to changes in condition promptly
• Administer and manage medications and physician orders accurately and timely
• Provide clear, compassionate patient education using appropriate modalities
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures and utilize standard precautions at all times
• Perform complete, accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions and responses
• Give thorough change-of-shift report to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, room supplies and general inventory
• Operate and troubleshoot PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg equipment and follow repair procedures as needed
• Follow restraint policy correctly, evaluate patient safety measures, and document appropriately
• Communicate critical lab values and other urgent information to physicians per policy

Qualifications

• Washington RN license — active (required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Telemetry settings
• Comfortable working night shifts and willing to flex across departments as needed
• Strong documentation/charting skills and familiarity with physician order management
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and standard precautions
• Ability to operate, troubleshoot and access manuals for essential clinical equipment
• Competence in emergency cart maintenance, supply management and shift handoffs
