Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform core laboratory testing accurately and efficiently to support emergency and outpatient surgical care
• Provide limited blood banking duties as needed to ensure safe transfusion practices
• Conduct outpatient phlebotomy when assigned, delivering compassionate patient care
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and LIS interfaces, including Beaker and SoftLab where used
• Maintain quality control, documentation, and compliance with laboratory policies and regulatory standards
• Communicate results and critical values clearly to clinical teams to support timely patient care
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations to ensure continuous patient service

Qualifications

• MT or MLT credential (MT/MLT) with current ASCP certification required
• Recent, high-volume hospital-based core lab experience is a must
• Experience with blood banking and outpatient phlebotomy
• Familiarity with Beaker and/or SoftLab strongly preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including scheduled weekends and holidays
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• MT or MLT certification (Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician)
• ASCP certification required
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Core laboratory testing workflows and high-volume lab operations
• Blood banking principles and transfusion safety
• Phlebotomy technique and patient interaction skills
• Laboratory information systems (Beaker/SoftLab experience preferred)
• Quality control, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab instruments
• Regulatory and documentation practices in a hospital lab setting
