Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately
- Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming while preserving independence
- Support nursing staff with treatments and timely reporting of observations
- Document care in the patient record clearly and professionally
- Create warm connections — engage residents socially and emotionally to boost wellbeing
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required by facility
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and teamwork mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- State CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and clinical team
- Familiarity with electronic health records is a plus
