Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate patient care using the full nursing process — assess, plan, implement and evaluate
- Lead and support unit staff (PCTs, CMAs, LPNs and RNs) to deliver safe, high-quality care
- Direct clinic patient flow and collaborate with other RN Charges to optimize operations
- Administer medications and treatments and interpret diagnostic tests when needed
- Provide patient, family and caregiver education with cultural sensitivity and age-specific care
- Document care accurately and ensure charting meets clinic standards
- Serve as a clinical resource and escalate issues to leadership as appropriate
- Assist with staffing decisions, resume reviews and onboarding of agency or travel staff
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska (must be in good standing)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of charge nurse experience in a clinic or urgent care setting
- Ability to pass and maintain required competencies for the position
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort with documentation systems
- Flexible schedule and ability to act independently within established guidelines
- BSN preferred
Education
- Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program (Associate or Diploma acceptable)
- BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient application of the nursing process and care management
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and interpretation of diagnostic tests
- Care coordination across the continuum and clinic flow management
- Supervisory and leadership skills for directing unit personnel
- Medical terminology and comfort with common clinical equipment
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural populations and age groups
- Competence with office and clinical tools (computer, phone, dynamap, scales, thermometer)
