Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policies and state practice acts
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
• Develop and initiate individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the care team
• Participate in unit performance improvement initiatives and shared governance activities
• Provide clinical guidance and expertise to other units or departments as patient needs require
• Escalate patient safety concerns and advocate for excellent patient experience through sound clinical judgment
• Engage in peer review and the professional nursing continuum to help improve clinical practice

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS required (one or the other)
• Experience as an Emergency Room RN preferred (the role calls for an experienced ER clinician)
• Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
