Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility while promoting dignity and independence
- Perform personal care tasks—bathing, dressing, grooming—with respect and privacy
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe, clean environment for residents
- Support comforting, person-centered interactions that improve quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- Reliable, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings per facility policy
- Comfortable with basic clinical tasks (vital signs, ADLs, transfers) and charting
- Team player who can collaborate with nurses and other care staff
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and proper PPE use
- Strong interpersonal skills and resident-centered communication
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns promptly
